“Is it true that ...?” retells history - starting from a seemingly simple question, in each episode we delve into different eras, bring past periods to life through animations an international shoots at original locations, follow the narratives of experts, and reveal surprising connections. The focus is on those parts of history that are ofthe overlooked: world history rather than Eurocentrism, the everyday and cltural history of ordinary people rather than great rulers and battle. Above all, however, engaging with the past is not an end in itself, but helps us to see our present in a new light.
